Brøchner Hotels is filled with jazz in the lovely summer months

We open up our four hotels - Hotel Kong Arthur, Ibsens Hotel, Hotel Danmark and Hotel Fox -  to guests, neighbours and Copenhageners, and offer Jazzy Fridays in the Open in collaboration with Copenhagen Jazzhouse. A unique opportunity to enjoy swinging, American jazz played by renowned Danish jazz musicians in some of the city’s hidden gems and courtyards.

In 1997, the Brøchner family took over Ibsens Hotel from ”3 ladies run a hotel”. Back then, you would find the bath in the hallway, plush wallpaper on the walls, and pictures of roaring stags in heavy golden frames. All this, we did something about back in the late 90ies. I 1997 overtog Brøchner familien Ibsens Hotel fra de ”3 piger driver hotel”. Dengang var der bad på gangen, plys-tapeter på væggene og billeder af brølende kronhjorte i tunge guldrammer. Alt det gjorde vi noget ved dengang i slutningen af 90’erne. Nu gør vi lidt igen, fordi vi syntes hotellet trænger til et løft – en ny beklædning.

Now it’s finally summer in Copenhagen again and the city shows itself from its most beautiful and welcoming side. The mermaid is sparkling in the sun, Nyhavn is filled to the bursting point, and Tivoli Gardens has opened its 167th season.

The city’s classics are not popular for no reason, but sometimes it’s exciting to move outside the beaten track and visit some of the less crowded places, not on the first page of the tourist guide.
